Salmon and Trout Fishing Trips in El Chaltén

Live an unforgettable experience in Patagonia!

Feel the thrill of salmon fishing in the Río de las Vueltas, surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Patagonia. Perfect for those seeking both adventure and tranquility in the heart of nature.

Sport fishing in El Chaltén and throughout the province of Santa Cruz.

The sport fishing season in El Chaltén (brown trout, rainbow trout, and salmon) runs from November to April. If your specific target is the prized King Salmon, fishing in our Río de las Vueltas takes place between mid-December and the end of March. Also, for seasoned anglers who dare to take on the challenge of catching salmon when they enter freshwater from the sea, we organize trips to other parts of the province, for example, on the Santa Cruz River, based in the beautiful city of Comandante Luis Piedra Buena in September and October.

Professional Fishing Guide

You will be accompanied by a local guide with years of experience in the rivers of Patagonia. They know every corner of the Río de las Vueltas and exactly where the best fishing spots are. They will provide technical advice, personalized assistance, and all the secrets that only a local fisherman can share. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, you will feel safe, learn, and enjoy an unforgettable day.

Patagonian Outdoor Lunch

After an intense day of fishing, enjoy a traditional Argentine lunch in the heart of nature, surrounded by trees, mountains, and the sound of the river. We serve a flavorful churrasco prepared in the traditional style, accompanied by a variety of side dishes and a vegetarian option. All paired with a fine Patagonian wine. A perfect moment to relax, share stories, and experience the essence of Patagonia.

True Stories, Unforgettable Adventures

I contacted Gerardo on WhatsApp because I was staying in El Chalten for a few days and wanted to try salmon fishing. He warned me it wasn't easy, but it was worth a try. He picked me up early in the morning and took me to a beautiful river. I was very lucky and caught a small salmon on my very first cast of the day. During the day, I lost two much larger salmon. Gerardo is a great guide; he knows his river inside out, the best access points, and the best salmon pools. After fishing, we ended the day with a delicious churrasco meal prepared entirely by Gerardo right next to the river. I really had a great day with Gerardo, who is a true enthusiast. I 100% recommend him !

The best fishing experience in El Chaltén!

It was simply incredible! The scenery, the guide, the fish, and the lunch. We caught a lot of fish and just felt great. We are incredibly grateful for this day ...

Gera, the guide, is amazing — he knows the river like the back of his hand. Guaranteed great fishing!

If you choose him, get your arms ready for a real fight — those big salmon put up a serious battle!
He treats you to an incredible meal and always shares a great story.
